We've added 2 DAF LF Automatic Training Vehicles to our LGV C (Class 2) fleet. The 14 tonne automatic trucks branded in our eye catching "Viamaster Orange" livery are easy to drive and help make learning to drive and pass your LGV C test far easier, less tiring and less stressful. And remember, due to DVSA Driving Test changes if you pass your LGV test in an automatic truck you now "automatically" get a full manual and automatic licence.
For those who still want to take the manual route to their LGV C licence, we've also replaced our well known Volvo FM with its challenging 4 over 4 gearbox, with a DAF CF straight forward 6 speed manual gearbox. This has also been made possible due to DVSA Driving Test changes. Yet more examples of Viamaster Training making learning to drive and pass your LGV C test as easy as possible, whichever route you choose.
NEWS: JULY 2016 - VIAMASTER JOINS THE UK's FIRST TRULY NATIONAL LOGISTICS SKILLS NETWORK
Viamaster Training are proud to have been selected as a member of The National Logistics Academy, a national network of Logistics Skills Training Providers formed to meet the national demand for logistics training by the UK's major logistics companies.
The National Logistics Academy was officially launched on Monday 11th July 2016.
The National Logistics Academy was stimulated by major logistics companies who were frustrated that there was no single provider that could meet all their training and development needs at all their locations across the country. This need has come into sharper focus more recently as large businesses are starting to get to grips with the introduction in April 2017 of the government’s Apprenticeship Levy.
“Now, more than ever, this sector needs to be able to call upon the support of a single, specialist organisation that has the expertise and resources to deliver workforce development programmes and skills training courses to logistics companies that operate throughout the UK. The system is very similar to that of pallet networks except our product is people development, instead of the movement of freight.”

NEWS: NOVEMBER 2015 TRAFFIC COMMISSIONER SLAMS USELESS, "OLD SCHOOL" TRANSPORT MANAGERS
By Richard Simpson Transport Operator News · November 2015
The traffic commissioner for London and the South East has criticised a lack of knowledge and professionalism among transport managers called by him to public inquiry (PI) after their companies have fallen foul of the law, and contrasted their failure to keep up-to-date with the legal requirement for drivers to undergo continuous training.
Writing in the traffic commissioners’ annual report for 2014-15, Nick Denton said that transport managers attending PIs: “typically have not bothered to attend training since they qualified 20 or 30 years ago.”
This lack of knowledge of current legislation and best practice resulted in failures of legal compliance and lead to the summons to PI. Mr Denton contrasted this attitude with that of those transport managers that he met at training events run by industry bodies, who were: “bright, dynamic, and keen to develop themselves professionally by undergoing regular training.”

NEWS: LGV PASS PLUS OPTION NOW AVAILABLE
Like you, we want you to pass your test first time. And our pass rates are excellent due mainly to our highly qualified trainers. But test fails happen. The DVSA test rate for Vocational Licences is currently 49% overall. Failing a test means taking a re-test. And that doesn't mean just jumping in the truck a few days later and taking your test again. Another couple of hours training, use of the truck for the test and the test fee will set you back £300 with us, maybe more elsewhere.
Thats why we've introduced a Pass Plus Option to our courses. Should you need a retest you get up to 2 retests included in the Pass Plus Option. Each retest includes 2 hours pre test training, use of the truck for the test, and the DSA test fee at no extra cost. The cost of 2 Pass Plus retests are priced at less than 2 normal retests.
However if you pass first or second time there is no refund of the remaining fee. Think of it as an insurance policy in case you need to claim your retests.
